In what is sure to be an interesting combo, Soulfly and Nile have announced a co-headlining “From The Amazon to The Nile” tour for next spring. Based on the pace Soulfly works at, I would imagine they would have a new record ready to go by this tour. Nile is currently working on their next album with Erik Rutan, so I’d imagine they’d be promoting a new one by next spring as well.
Here is the routing. Tickets go on sale 10am local time this Friday. No support acts have been announced yet.

SEPULTURA Guitarist Admits Listening To SOULFLY
In a brand new interview with Australia’s Sticks For Stones, SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser was asked if he ever listens to SOULFLY, the band formed by former SEPULTURA frontman Max Cavalera after his departure from the veteran Brazilian group. “Yeah, of course,” Andreas responded (hear audio below). “I listen to everything. I have no reason not to listen to what he does. He made the albums with SOULFLY and CAVALERA CONSPIRACY and different projects here and there and stuff, and, of course, I listen. But we are doing very different stuff nowadays. We are in different worlds, although we play metal, but we are doing very different things. Which, I think, that’s why he left SEPULTURA — to do stuff different from what we do. And that’s great — it’s very positive for the fans and for the people who follow both bands or follow SEPULTURA. I think it’s a very healthy territory, that we have more bands and more possibilities of collaborations and stuff like that. And it’s great. I think artistically, it’s very positive.”
Max recently slammed the current lineup of SEPULTURA, implying in an interview that the band hasn’t written any high-quality material since his exit from the group more than two decades ago. “Tell me one great song they have written since I left,” he told Metal Rules. “Name one great album they have put out after that. I haven’t seen anything. I don’t know one name of one song as popular as ‘Roots Bloody Roots’. So, it just tells me like whatever they are doing, I don’t know how they keep on going. I don’t think it’s working at all. But somehow they keep on going, somehow. It’s crazy to me.”
In 1996, Max exited SEPULTURA after the rest of the band fired his wife Gloria as their manager.
The current SEPULTURA lineup — featuring Kisser and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. alongside Derrick Green on vocals and Eloy Casagrande on drums — will release its new studio album, “Machine Messiah”, on January 13 via Nuclear Blast.
